Having to dive into a VM to do my programming is bugging me and interrupting my workflow, hence I decided, regardless of the fantastic hw book, to unify my efforts.
As a result I installed windows power shell and now I am finding a C compiler that can run from power shell. Power shell is Microsoft's effort to, after years of depreciation of their terminal, a remnant of MS-DOS, on which the first Windows version on on top of, instead of the terminal running within the GUI as has been the case since Windows NT.
