I feel like I know enough to start making my hands dirty: I am going to develop a game, starting with a game engine built in C, based on a tutorial that I found on Github: "How to program a text adventure in C" by Ruud Helderman.

About
Name of the Game: 'Light in the Dark'
The game is an offline single player RPG game placed in a low fantasy world of my creation.

Offline
As opposed to online.
The game exists on the player's device rather than a computer somewhere else that serves the game to the player over the internet.

Single Player
As opposed to multiplayer.
The game is to be played by one player only.

RPG
RPG or Role Playing Game means a game in which the player imagines he / she is a character in the game and the story of the game is lived by the player as if he / she was living in the world that the game describes.

Low Fantasy
Within the scene, low fantasy means that magic plays a smaller role than in, for example, high fantasy, describing a world that somehow resembles our historical world in terms of forces that are at work, but is still fantasy, in the sense that the world is not our world.

Scenario
The story commences in a dark and cold world, not just physically, but more so in the hearts of men. The story's main character is invited to create the events that, according to prophesy, might trigger 'The Second Coming' of light into the world.
