Somebody on Discord asked me, why I am interested in developing on the Comodore Amiga platform.
I replied
"The first computer I touched was a Commodore 64, at 9, and the first computer I owned was an Atari XE, at 11. The first program I wrote was written in BASIC on Atari. And I am disgusted by modern computing. No rational reason that I can find. It just seems so meaningless and empty to me, in comparison. Maybe I need to ask a psychologist which obsession I suffer from. :D"
I also mentioned, a little later, when examining my demands for an OS:
"I did not mention this earlier but this is also why I hearken back to retro computing: the simplicity of it.
Having only 3 games to choose from, a few books in your drawer, and no internet to get any distraction one would like.
Honestly, to me that feels better than the plethora of offering these days
And I think children are made sick by it
it is destroying the future society imo. Sorry that I am so pessimistic but I can not deny it. Such a wonderful piece of art that a computer is, has been turned into a monster, if you ask me.
And why? To feed an economy that needs profits all the time, to keep going.
For the same reason that we are unable to control AI.
The evolution of AI into military application is horrific"
These aspects are why I firmly reject modern computing.
People are careless and do not aim to control this beast we call technology that is constantly evolving. I do not want to do computing like that. It is a great wonderful force, and we should wield it as an art, not as a means to satisfy every desire we may have, or to make our life as easy as we can. But to create art.

" 'needs' are a slippery slope and before you know it, one 'needs' all the bloat and bells of modern computing / entertainment where never is ever 'enough' and satisfaction is ever harder to attain. I can really sacrifice video if I still have text. Music is a problem however and some form of messaging is essential to be connected to people, especially in this time and age."
And then I came to the bottom of the matter:"I did not mention this earlier but this is also why I hearken back to retro computing: the simplicity of it.
